Holiday Highlights

Me, Shayna, and Brad.

Just a few highlights from my Christmas and New Year's Eve... :)

I got to see all of my amazing peoples for Christmas! Adorable cousins, wonderful aunts, and tons of uncles. =)

At the Wildermuth house we played Sardines, Pit, Ticket to Ride, and Settlers of Catan. We went on long walks around the farm, ate at a Chinese buffet, chopped wood, and watched animated movies. We cracked nuts, roasted hot dogs over the wood stove, and ate Aunt Joy's cheesecake. The crowd there included Grandma W, all six of us, Uncle Paul, Aunt Shayna, and Aunt Joy&Uncle Tim. Shayna's boyfriend Brad also got to stay a few days with us. We all got to go ice-skating, including our friends the Smiths, and Uncle David (from the Morris side of the family). My friend Emily couldn't come skating, so she came to visit later in the week. We went on a long early morning walk, during which we lost Pookie. (Sam's dog) She chased three deer across the field, and didn't come back for an hour. I was mad at her. Lol! :-/

After we had Christmas at the Wildermuth house, we spent the rest of our time at the Morris house. There's too many Morris people to name each one, so I'll just say that there were thirteen boys and five girls. Yeah. We're outnumbered. :) Mostly the Morris Christmas consists of loud noises, lots of talking, and lots of eating. Lol! We had two gift exchanges, one normal one and one gag gift one. Which might give you a clue as far as what sort of family we are. So yeah.... loud debates and conversations, amazing delicious food, LOTS of boys, and hilarious games. Pretty much sums it up. :)

We didn't do much for New Year's Eve, but we celebrated in little ways. We stayed home and had homemade pizza and root beer in glass bottles for supper. Then we made structures out of gumdrops and toothpicks, and ate them. The gumdrops, not the toothpicks. =) The little boys went to bed, but Dad got them back up again, and we set off some fireworks in the backyard. Piper HATED them. Pookie went and hid, but Piper stayed with us and barked like crazy, and jumped around and raced up and down the yard. I'm pretty sure she thought our lives were in danger, and she was the only thing standing between us and death. Poor dog. She was so upset. Lol!

Our friend Vicky from church gave me an old quilt top for Christmas. Isn't that an amazing gift? =) I'm going to finish it up, and then I can cuddle up with it while I read. =)

Happy 2012 everybody!!!!!!! Hope you have a happy, happy New Year.
