Snooooooooow =)

It's snowing! I can't really believe it, but that's definitely snow. Today I spent all morning doing Chemistry, and memorizing the periodic table. Jealous? You should be. :-/
I took a break from Rubidium, Carbon and Yttrium (whoever named Yttrium needs their head examined!) and I had some creative time. :)

I worked on some earrings, which I can't share because they're Christmas presents ;) and I made this necklace out of metal findings, cardboard, and an illustration from an old children's book.
I was halfway doubtful about making a necklace out of cardboard, but I think it worked out. =)

I obviously took a holiday break from blogging. :) Thanksgiving was wonderful, and I got to spend time with lots and lots of my favorite people. As you can see, I also did some work on my fabric-collecting project. <3 I only need one or two more patterns, and then I'm almost ready to start my quilt! I'll probably have to wait until Christmas break to actually start, though. We are going to be very, very busy, especially this week. Hopefully we'll be closing on our little country house, so there will be lots of hard work, paperwork, and appointments for that. In addition, Sam and I need to start getting ready for our finals. I pretty much need to memorize the whole periodic table for some extra credit, and we'll get a take-home test this week for Chemistry. I'm almost ready for the piano final/jury thingy, and there's not really any way to study for the Composition final, but Chemistry is going to require a LOT of work. On top of all that, it's pretty much the Christmas season! So we have to squeeze some candy and cookies and Christmas joy in too. :) Right now I'm listening to old Christmas music (Ella Fitzgerald, Bing Crosby...) and Mom bought lots of poinsettias and wreaths to decorate with. So... yes. I'm verrrry busy.

Books and fabric

I am feeling a whole lot better ... not completely wonderful, but lots better. Yesterday we went to Memphis to do our library and thrift store stuff. :) These are the books I got...

Think Big - Ben Carson
Heaven to Betsy - Maud Hart Lovelace
Camilla - Madeleine L'Engle
Dragon Rider - Cornelia Funke
The Promise - Chaim Potok
Peeled - Joan Bauer
The Penderwicks - Jeanne Birdsall
The Lord God Made Them All - James Herriot
Sons from Afar - Cynthia Voigt
Eragon - Christopher Paolini

I stopped in at Joann Fabrics to look for fabric for my quilt. It was a little more difficult than I thought, because I'm a really picky person! :-/
I ended up with this vintagey dog print, and the blue one with flowers, below.
I'm still looking for eight other patterns and colors to go with them. The quilt is going to have a lot of white in it, and it's going to be pretty simple. Right now I really think I need some light green fabric, and maybe something with lavendar in it...
I bought a koala hat at K-mart, and we found a case for my guitar at a thrift store. I also got a metal frame that I'm going to spray paint. Yellow spray paint is on my Christmas list. Lol! :)
Today I'm catching some stuff up. I got back to doing math, and I let Piper come upstairs and sit with me while I did it. She was glad to see me again. :)

My math DVD always makes her fall asleep :p

Feeling blarghish

All Creatures Great and Small - both the books and the show are rather comforting when you're sick. =)
Eeesh. :-/  I'm feeling pretty miserable right now. We've all got a nasty cold, and it is NOT fun. I didn't really sleep last night, and in the morning I felt so miserable that I skipped classes. Chemistry class was cancelled though, and Sam handed in my Composition paper for me, so it worked out fine.
We've pretty much spent all day reading, eating, and watching lots of netflix! I've also spent way too much time on Pinterest and Goodreads. I really hope we all feel better by Thanksgiving. :-/  Enough of my woeful tale of kleenexs though. Below are some of my favorite pins of the day. And yes, I'm a bit of a book nerd. :)
Does anyone else think that this looks AMAZING!?
I kind of adore this. :)
Anyhow, it's time for me to get off to bed. Maybe we'll all feel a little better in the morning. Cozy socks and blankets are all very comforting, and so is All Creatures Great and Small; but I could do without the runny nose and headache that comes with them. :-/

Sneak Peek....

Well, my room has been painted for several days, but (and this is rather embarrassing) I have been too lazy and unmotivated to get my room organized enough to take pictures. :p And this is one of The Days I don't feel good... :p lol, so it's going to be a little longer. :(  But here's a sneak peek for now.... :)
I can't wait to make curtains and a quilt! (The old brown comforter needs to go.) And I can't wait till I get it cleaned up and decorated. Well... I can wait to do the work, but I'd like the result now! Isn't that how everything goes? :p

I almost have the room entirely painted! I can't wait till I have pictures. As you can tell, I'm sorting through my books. I've maybe gotten rid of five. :-/ Lol!
Taffy is very curious and is always coming in to see what's going on.

602,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 or something like that...

Prince Edward Island (think Anne of Green Gables and Emily of New Moon) =)
It's been about a week since I last blogged. :-/  I've been fairly busy with school, and I've also been painting my room. It's going to be just plain white. Not even country white or a creamy color, just plain white. It will end up being colorful though, because I'll have my yellow bed, and I think I'll make yellow curtains too. =) It's going to be beautiful! (I hope) I want to make a quilt for the bed, and I have lots of cool stuff to hang on the walls... like maps! :)
Once I get everything moved in and painted, I'm going to have to sort through my books. Ugh. I'm sure there's a few I should get rid of, because I seriously have a ton of books. Well, maybe I shouldn't exaggerate. It's probably only half a ton. :) And it's definitely not a mole! Sorry. We've been talking a lot about moles in chemistry. A mole is 6.02 times 10 to the 23. In other words, 602,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. I'm sure you wanted to know that, because so did I. :-/
European Highways
Anyway, nothing much else has been happening. Dad has been teaching evening classes, and Sam has been sick for several weeks. Pookie has been a very bad doggie, and barks constantly. Maybe she misses Sam, or maybe she's being a booger just because she loves to be a booger. Taffy is still absolutely adorable and she smells like baby fur ^_^ and Pickles is getting fat. Ginger the cockatiel went to a new home, which very much pleases Morckel. I don't think they had a good marriage. Lol. And yes, I am finally done rambling. :) Toodles :)
